The Erotic Provocateur is three months old!
In that time I’ve written an essay every week, with audio recording, and Salon video recordings for most of them (I confess I am a little behind with that).
I am quite proud of that achievement.
I’ve received some wonderful feedback and commentary, which means a lot. Doing this kind of writing can feel like sending words out into a void, so feeling them land and resonate with readers is deeply encouraging.
And..there is even a small paid community! Thank-you so much.
There are 12 members so far. It may not sound like many, but it’s a beginning. And my intention is to grow this to 500, a level that would allow me to shift more of my time into writing and sharing this work more widely.
This wouldn’t be in place of my therapy work, I’ll always value that as it keeps me grounded in the reality of people’s lives. But alongside it.
Because I feel I have moved into a different phase of my work now, a ‘legacy’ phase. It’s a time that is less about learning and building, and more about articulating, refining and sharing what I have come to understand after decades of working in this field.
Because the truth is that there is still so little guidance on how to create truly fulfilling, life-enhancing relationships over time. People aren’t failing at intimacy, they’ve just never been given the maps.
This is the work I’ve devoted my life to, developing those maps. And now I’m sharing them.
It’s erotic, yes, and it’s provocative. but not in the ways we’ve been used to. It’s not bigger, harder, faster. It’s not clinical and performative. It’s not airy and abstract. It is grounded in science, informed by experience, and deeply connected to something more human, more relational…and at times more sacred.
And always infused with love.
Thank-you for being part of this. If it resonates, please feel free to share.
And this week I’m keeping it deliberately simple. After 12 weeks of creative output, I’m taking a breath. I do, after all, practice what I preach.
This week the provocation is this:
I opened The Erotic Provocateur with an invitation to slow down. Now, three months and twelve essays later, I’d like to return to that same place - but with a subtle difference.
To notice how if feels now, after sitting with these ideas… after letting them land in your body, your relationships, your life.
What happens when you slow down enough to actually feel what’s here…?
